The mysterious death of over 50 people in Ankpa within days

According to report more than 80 persons has died mysteriously and consecutively, everyday people witness more than 12 person close by dying in the main town of Ankpa for the past one week, Ankpa is a Local Government Area in Kogi State, Nigeria. Its headquarters are in the town of Ankpa on the A233 highway in the west of the area at 7°22′14″N 7°37′31″E. It has an area of 1,200 km² and a population of 267,353 at the 2006 census. By 2016, the population had swelled to 359,300.now is estimate to be about 570,000 and plus.The postal code of the area is 270. The northeasterly line of equal latitude and longitude passes through the Local Government Area.Ankpa being one of the most populated and the economic and political frontrunner in the state and Igala land has witness a numbers of sudden deaths which has called for immediate attention. The ANKPA 1 representative RT hon Ahmed Muhammad and the deputy speaker kogi state house of assembly gave his concern about this rapid deaths occurring everyday . Even the sorrounding of the LG was not left out ,according to the source of the story he said ' even people died in the villages too is just that the town has more concern ,he added when he ask question about death situation in the village he was shock when he heard people now die everyday

Now We envisioned nothing but positive development in our dear state especially the coming of 2020 as a year of glamorous achievement. But little did we know how negativity will befall us afterwards. A lot of unprecedented incidents have been experienced in the past few weeks in igalaland. The increased death toll in recent times cannot be overemphasized. However, from our enquiry, we estimated about 301 death and more within the last seven days in igalaland. This statistic was rounded up from figures collected from major communities and town like Ikanekpo, enjema, Ankpa, idah, ayingba, olamaboro, iyale, Lokoja, among several others. As mysterious as it is, we however suspect it’s somehow related to the pandemic Virus which has affected most states and countries of the world because this has never been experienced on this soil. We enjoin the populace to try and live by the guidelines proposed by the NCDC and the presidential task force on how to survive in this trial times.

The Kogi State Government can try as much as possible to set up panel of enquiry and undergo research to help us determine the cause of this mysterious death. Other measures can be put in place for the protection of the citizens which is indeed the principal function of any government.
