Mysterious death

Enugu is in mourning mood after losing three prominent politicians, all from the same zone in space of one month and three days. The mysterious death have got tongue wagging to be as a result of Covid-19 related complications. The three dead politicians are; Senator Fidelis Okoro, Hon. Patrick Omeje and now Hon. Chijioke Ugwueze. All from PDP and Enugu North Senatorial zone. Late Sen. Fidelis Okoro was an elder statesman, a seasoned politician and three-term Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, who died in Abuja on Sunday, May 17, 2020. The cause of his death remains largely mysterious but some reports say he died as a result of heart complications.

Hon. Patrick Omeje, Chairman of Nsukka Local Government died on Monday, June 16 2020 after he was diagnosed with pneumonia. His death comes five months after several youths protested against his administration by walking round Nsukka community with a mock coffin. He was accused him of dismal performing during his first term in office and the youth urged governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi not to support his re-election. Today, June 20, a member of the Enugu State House of Assembly and Popular PDP Chieftain, Hon. Chijioke Ugwueze has died. According to reports, Ugwueze, who represented Isi-Uzo constituency died on Friday after battling a brief illness. This is coming a few days after the council chairman of Nsukka LGA, Hon. Patrick Omeje died of an undisclosed ailment in the State.

Enugu people are in state of apprehension following the deaths of these three politicians as some wonder if Covid-19 is secreting plaguing the state. It is a very hard times for the Peoples Democratic Party, Enugu Government and the entire citizens of Enugu state. May God be with them.
